Hampton facade renovations

This Hampton style facade renovation is only one chapter in the story of this home. It was originally built around 1965 as a small fibro cottage. In 1998 it was renovated and extended to a four-bedroom Heritage style brick home. A first-floor extension was added in 2006 and the exterior was redone with a coastal Mediterranean influence including ochre render and circular columns.

Seeing the ‘After’ photos you sense the VISION and PASSION that has transformed this house into a beautiful and inviting modern Hampton style home.

Our clients lived next door to this property for around 16 years and watched the 2006 extension/renovation. By 2014 they had outgrown their three-bedroom bungalow and began exploring options to extend and renovate, knock down and rebuild or sell and build in a new subdivision. But they loved this location and were reluctant to uproot their family. Around the same time the neighbours began preparing this property for sale. Our clients purchased the home and moved next door carrying their belongings one-by-one…what a sight!

Coming from a much smaller home they relished the spacious rooms, high ceilings and luxuries of a dressing room and ensuite adjoining the master bedroom. They began making changes to suit their personal style and family needs. Changing the house facade was not a top priority but it was escalated due to water issues and repairs required to some of the second storey blueboard.

Our clients met with a Dulux Colour Consultant who suggested that the shape of their home would suite a Hampton facade. This was a light bulb moment that grew into a vision that quickly gained momentum. They began compiling a Vision Scrapbook of pictures and ideas of their favourite Hampton design features.

Our clients are thrilled with this facade renovation. They especially love the spot to the left of the front door where many of the design elements come together. Another favourite is the custom window seat that is great for storing suitcases and is a lovely spot to read or enjoy the afternoon Winter sunshine.
